This collection contains memorabilia collected by Clyde Quimby during his years at the University of New Hampshire and as an alumni. The bulk is newspaper clippings of sporting events. Also included are a notebook from his mechanical laboratory class, a campus map from 1933 and a letter to freshmen from a local store proprietor.

In 1861, the United States federal government approved the Morrill Act which set aside land in each state for the founding of public higher education. In 1862, the New Hampshire state legislature accepted the grant of 80,000 acres of public lands on which to set up a university. Clyde Quimby, from Claremont, NH, graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1933. While at college he was active in Delta Chi (Honorary Mathematic Society), the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, and the track and cross country teams.
